The story of Johkula in the old vicarage
Eight rooms of the 19th-century vicarage take you from the first fishermen to today's travellers. See the log drivers' tools, desks from the village school and the vicarage kitchen as it was in the 1920s. Upstairs, the nature hall introduces the lichens of Johku Fell, the birds of the bogs and the fish of Lake Johku. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.
Now showing: Under the Northern Lights
From 14 November 2026 to 11 April 2027, local photographers show Johkula's winter nights. In summer (15 May – 26 September 2027) the exhibition is The Log Drivers' Summer. Temporary exhibitions are included in the ticket.
